America Lodge Farmhouse accommodation The house and courtyard
Beautifully refurbished for Spring 2012
America Lodge is a beautiful 19th century farmhouse offering self catering accommodation in Rutland, England's smallest county. Graded as a high 3 star property.
Set overlooking the Chater valley with views of classic rolling English countryside in a charming and secluded setting with large garden and patio area. Ideal for those seeking a quiet rural retreat. It is close to the historic market towns of Oakham, Uppingham and Stamford which have some unique shops .
We have a working livestock farm some 2.5 miles away and we usually bring some farm animals into the paddock adjacent to America Lodge. There are always chickens on site and fresh eggs are available. Children may collect the eggs from the nest boxes themselves upon request. We also currently have some Aberdeen Angus and British Shorthorn calves in the shed in the farmyard.
The property consists of one triple room, two double rooms ( one ensuite) and one twin-bedded room.The house is large and all rooms are very spacious.
Two sitting rooms with log fires and one having access to a southwest facing patio and garden.
Large farmhouse kitchen with dishwasher, microwave, freezer, fridge and laundry facilities.
Oil fired central heating for winter months.
Guests will also have the opportunity to buy meat from our farm - we have available top quality lamb and Gloucester Old Spot pork
